THATCHER – Signaling their commitment to higher education in Southeastern Arizona, representatives from American Southwest Credit Union (ASCU) opened the new year by presenting a check for $10,000 to the Eastern Arizona College Foundation. David Udall, Executive Director of the foundation, expressed his gratitude for the donation and stated that 100 percent of the contribution will go toward scholarships benefitting EAC students.

ASCU President and CEO, Jay Williamson, was on hand for the presentation and expressed his admiration for the tradition and values EAC is built upon and all that the college does to help build and support a strong workforce in the community. He further stated that providing a local presence and consistently showing a commitment to the community are key components of ASCU’s mission.

ASCU is currently headquartered in Sierra Vista, Arizona, with branches located throughout Cochise and Pima counties. Credit union leadership identified Graham County as an area with strong growth potential and is exploring opportunities to open a branch locally.
