PIMA – Anyone in search of a good scare for a good cause will be glad to hear the annual haunted house fundraiser will return for four nights this month. This year features 14 all-new sections and the return of the infamously terrifying tunnel.
This year, the haunted house will finish its run Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30, from 7 – 9 p.m. The event takes place at the W.M. Carter Farm Museum at 2 N. Main St., in Pima, and costs just $5 per person.
Started in 2019 by Museum Board Vice President Clint Woods, Fright at the Museum is an annual fundraiser for the Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society of Graham County. It is held each year around Halloween and ran 100% by community volunteers.
Last year the four-night event was staffed by 60 volunteers who spent untold hours organizing, decorating and running the haunt. Roughly $8,000 dollars was raised, which helped to restore the drug store roof and install AC units in the Cluff Hall and bank building portions of the museum. The museum board hopes the fundraiser brings in a similar amount this year. The funds will help replenish operating funds that were used for required updates to the electrical service in the old bank building. Other upcoming projects that will require funding include repairing the W.M. Carter Farm Museum, including roof and load-bearing walls.
