Eastern Arizona College honors veterans at annual event

THATCHER – Eastern Arizona College will host its annual Veterans Day event to honor those who have served or are currently serving in the military. Sponsored by the Associated Students of Eastern Arizona College, this event is being held the day after Veterans Day to not compete with other area events and to encourage more student and employee participation.

What: EAC’s Veterans Day event

When: Thursday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m.

Where: Eastern Arizona College, 615 N. Stadium Avenue, Thatcher. (The event is located on the west side of EAC’s Student Services Building near the flagpole. Parking is available.)

Who: The community is welcome to join EAC students, faculty, and staff.

Why: Remarks will be given by Bethany Lamb, a current EAC student and veteran. Arizona Veterans Advisory Commission member, Chris Gibbs, will be in attendance. The EAC Marching Band will perform patriotic music.

Enroll Today in EAC Spring Classes:  EAC supports veterans making the transition from military to civilian life through higher education by utilizing the GI Bill. Classes begin Jan. 19 with social distancing in place. Veterans should contact, Lauri Windsor, at (928) 428-8443.
