THATCHER – EAC would like to congratulate the cast of “The Yellow Boat” on their sold-out show last week. Students Madeline Cockrell (director), Evan Garcia (lighting), and Terrence Banks (sound) did a fabulous job on the production.

The show was registered with the KCACTF (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). A respondent representing KCACTF attended Friday evening’s performance and nominated two students to participate in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Auditions at the Region 8 Festival in February. The student actors recognized were Mackenzie Whiting and Jason Ries.

“Madeline did a wonderful job understanding the themes of the play and its various styles and communicating that to the team of actors that she directed. Her creative leadership was the spark for the whole production,” said Scott Dahl, EAC fine arts associate professor.

Next up will be the directorial debut of EAC’s new theatre professor, Jeff Skiba. He and his cast will perform “An Experiment with an Air Pump,” Nov. 15-18, at 7 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $5/person and are on sale at eac.edu
