Public given opportunity to meet-and-greet candidates

CLIFTON – On Thursday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m., all four Democratic candidates who have filed to run for the Arizona State Legislature will be coming to the Clifton Train Station to meet the public.

The candidates include primary competitors Mendy Gomez and Jaime Aguilar, both of whom are running for the Arizona State Senate. State Representative candidates Robert Karp and Shelley Renne-Leon will also be on hand.

The Greenlee Democrats will first hold a brief monthly meeting At 6 p.m. and then the candidates for state offices will introduce themselves and take questions. The public is invited to attend.

“This is a very good opportunity for folks in Greenlee County to meet candidates up close and personal,” a spokesperson said. “Foremost it is a great opportunity to meet the candidates and ask them direct questions about where they stand on various issues.”`
