Kaleb Cordova wins individual state championship

TEMPE – The Safford Middle School wrestling team came, they saw, and they won the team state competition by scoring a whopping 215 points.
The Bulldogs finished first overall with 215, followed by Eloy with 197.5 in second place, and Somerton with 175.5 for third.
Six wrestlers earned medals and Kaleb Cordova was crowned as an individual state champion.
In addition to Cordova, the other state placers include Alex Chacon in second place, Monster Rios, and Gary Smith each took third place in their respective weight classes, and James Jujan and Josiah Ogas each took fifth place in their respective weight classes.
