GILA COUNTY – The Gisela Road Improvement Project is scheduled to begin construction on Thursday, March 7.
A pilot car operation will be in effect Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes. The contractor is making provisions for emergency vehicles to get through with minimal delays.
The project is located on Gisela Road in Gila County, east of SR 87, and extends eastward towards Gisela for a total distance of 1.70 miles from the roadway high point to the Tonto Creek Shores intersection.
The improvements consist of milling the existing chip seal, compacting the milled material in place, and placing an emulsified double chip seal with a fog coat on top of the compacted material.
The work is scheduled for completion on Thursday, March 28.
