Gila County Oral Health Program bringing brighter smiles to Copper Rim Elementary on February 5 – 8

By Carol Broeder

GILA COUNTY – Attention all Copper Rim parents, the Gila County Oral Health Program will be at your child’s school from Monday through Thursday, Feb. 5-8, providing services through our dental sealant program.

Please watch out for consent forms that will be sent home at the end of January.
The county’s oral health program partners with the Arizona Department of Health Services, Cavity Free AZ program, and Delta Dental of Arizona to provide these services free of cost.

Dental sealants are a great preventive measure to help protect your child’s teeth from cavities. The procedure is painless and done quickly by our registered dental hygienist and dental assistant.

A dental sealant is a thin protective coating that is placed on the chewing surface of permanent molars. It covers the pits and fissures in the tooth susceptible to decay. Once the sealants are placed, they can last for several years, helping protect teeth and save your family time and money in the long run by avoiding costly dental procedures due to decay.

At the event, we will also provide free fluoride varnish applications to students.
Fluoride varnish helps to remineralize and strengthen teeth.

Our team has enjoyed working with all the awesome students thus far in Gila County and we are happy to continue reaching more students in 2024!

The highlight for our team is seeing the students walk away happy and excited about a fun dental visit.  This gives them confidence for future dental visits.

We hope to see your student in February!
