Editorial: Two gaffe machines working overtime

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, within a 24-hour period, uttered such ridiculous statements that the world must be wondering, “this has to be more than another unintended gaffe.”

I think global opinion is probably right.

When speaking at a White House Conference on Nutrition, Hunger and Health, Sept. 28, 2022, President Joe inquired where Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski was?

Presumably, he was going to acknowledge her efforts in grappling with the nation’s nutritional and health needs.

There was a moment of audience silence as someone reminded Biden Rep. Walorski was killed in an auto accident about two months ago.

Not certain if Joe was unaware of the incident, or he’d simply forgotten.  Either way, it was another troubling demonstration exposing his frequent inability to remember events and details.

Less than 24 hours later, while addressing U.S. military and government officials of South Korea along the Demilitarized Zone separating the two countries, Kamala made a similar Joe-like blunder when she advised everyone, “The United States shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea.  It’s an alliance that’s strong and enduring.”

Obviously, she should have said “South Korea,” but she didn’t.  Nor did she correct herself, continuing as if her mistake had gone unnoticed.

Kim Jong-un, dictator of North Korea, noticed.  In a display of how impressed he was with Kamala’s bungled remarks, he immediately launched four missiles into the Sea of Japan.

Another missile fired a couple of days later compelled Japan to issue a nationwide alert.

Sort of an “in your face” fireworks demonstration to show he wasn’t intimidated by Kamala’s comments.

It wasn’t too long-ago President Trump advised “Lil’ Kim” not to do anything stupid, or there would-be hell to pay.

Kim took Trump at his word and ceased future missile testing.  Today, Kim thumbs his nose at us.

This is typical of our two highest elected leaders.  Neither one seems to possess the necessary smarts and skills to deal with international or domestic affairs.  Either that, or their wokeness has twisted all rational thinking. Certainly, world respect for the United States has substantially diminished.

Even more tragic, when Joe and Kamala become involved, inevitably things get worse.

Two current examples:  1.  As the Biden Administration spends us into bankruptcy with something called “The Inflation Reduction Act,” at the same time we’re contributing billions of borrowed dollars helping the Ukrainian’s tangle with Russia.

And, 2.  Border Czar, Kamala Harris still hasn’t found her way to the US/Mexico border, but has no difficulty flying a third of the way around the world to visit the North/South Korean border to make a dopy speech.
Which, she screwed up.

All of this nonsense would be unbelievable it wasn’t tragically true.
Each sunrise brings a new day of goofs and gaffes from the “Build Back Better” team.

Actually, this outfit is bragging over its failed efforts in preventing an economy from slipping into recession, consumers paying more to buy less, requiring a $100 for each fill-up of the family vehicle, draining our Strategic Oil Reserves as imported fuels from Saudi Arabia cuts production by  two million barrels a day, mismanagement of the COVID fiasco continues to wreak havoc on society, millions of non-citizens illegally entering into the country, an embarrassingly incompetent military withdrawal from Afghanistan, a stock market reeling from financial uncertainties, and many inner-city neighborhoods eroding into ravines of rampant crime, violence and destruction.

Shockingly, Joe’s son, Hunter, remains unscathed, even though his criminally incriminating laptop computer has been in the custody of Biden’s Department of Justice for over two years.

As a diversion from reality, we are constantly spoon-fed semi-fictional horrors of the Jan. 6, 2020 Capitol Hill riots, view TV news clips of armed FBI raids on individual political targets, including Trump’s home in Florida, listen to climate change rants of impending doom (I wonder how efficiently those rooftop mounted solar panels and windmill electric generators performed during Hurrican Ian?), Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threat of using nuclear weapons in Europe as he retreats from claimed territorial victories in Ukraine.

Undeniably, a majority of this craziness has occurred within the past two years under Joe’s watch.

To top it off, we’re blessed with a president and vice president who appear totally clueless.

How much worse can it get?

Well, we should be thankful Nancy Pelosi isn’t in charge.  Not yet, but getting closer.

Unfortunately, she’s only two failed cognitive tests away!
