Editorial: Let the lawsuits begin

Joe and Jill Biden

Column By Mike Bibb

You instinctively knew it wouldn’t take very long before the lawsuits challenging President Joe Biden’s mandatory COVID vaccine shots began piling up.

Especially when his dictates affect career members of the military, civil service, civilian contractors, and state and local first responders.   People who actually work for the very same government as Joe

In essence, the lawsuits are in response to the public’s “What the heck is he thinking?” – wanting to terminate millions of people simply because they don’t want to take the COVID shots.

Firing people at a time when there’s already a worker shortage doesn’t make much sense.  But in Joe’s brain, who knows what makes sense?

Apparently, he’s not worried over his declining popularity among voters, particularly Independents.  According to a recent Gallup survey, Biden’s plummeting poll numbers for his first nine months in office are the worst of any president since World War II – more than 75 years ago.

Not very difficult to figure out why.

His botched management of the economy; his botched management of the border; his botched management of the Afghanistan withdrawal; his botched management of the coronavirus; his botched management of inflation and rising costs of everything; his botched management of our energy needs; his botched management of the supply-chain debacle and his bewildering multi-trillion-dollar deficit spending proposals are mind-blowing to the average individual.

How in the world could one president create such turmoil in such a short time?  It’s like he’s the leading contender in a Presidential Crisis-A-Month contest.

Adding to the disorder, civil lawsuits are beginning to be initiated against Joe regarding his forced COVID inoculations.  His “get the shot or be fired” declarations are not sitting well with many people.  Notably, those who do not want or need the shots, or feel the government has overstepped its authority in demanding everyone receive a medicine not prescribed by a doctor or family physician.

It wasn’t very long-ago Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Advisor to the President, and President Joe Biden (D-DE) pledged the vaccines would never be compulsory because the government did not possess the lawful authority to require them.

It still doesn’t.  Nevertheless, the law be damned and now they’ve changed their tune.  Seems the Biden Administration believes it can do whatever it wants regardless of the rules or lawful restrictions.

To think, the Democrats unsuccessfully tried twice to impeach President Trump on spurious accusations, but Joe can flaunt his assumed authority and the Dems are in near-lockstep with his blundering ways.

As a result, lawsuits contesting the government’s prerogative to force involuntary COVID inoculations are beginning to be filed.

In an Oct 15, 2021 press release, a private organization called Liberty Council, announced “Liberty Council filed a class-action lawsuit against Joe Biden and his administration on behalf of members of the military, federal employees and federal civilian contractors who have been unlawfully mandated to get the COVID shots or face dishonorable discharge from the military or termination from employment.  On Monday this week (Oct. 18, 2021), the federal court set an expedited hearing.”

Undoubtedly, this will be only one of many suits with Joe’s name on them.  Not that he cares or even knows they’re happening.  However, the people and organizations bringing the actions know it.  As will the courts hearing the complaints.

In the meantime, Joe will probably stumble into another calamity of his making, totally unaware of what he’s doing or why he’s doing it.

Remember, this is the same guy who publicly announced he’s traveled to our southern border and is fully cognizant of the problems, but needs to return for a refresher.  “I guess I should go down” he recently remarked.  “I just haven’t had the time.”

Haven’t had time?  He spends nearly every weekend secluded in his newly walled Delaware abode but can’t find the time to actually see what is going on along the Texas and Arizona borders?

Also, he’s commented that his wife, Jill, at some time in the past has been to the border.  I suppose her sojourns were later recorded as official visits.

In fact, Joe has never been to the border, unless he counts flying over it at 35,000 feet in Air Force One.  His 2008 Obama-Biden campaign stops in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico was about as close as he’s come.

Just one of many “misstatements” he’s made over the past 50 years.  Yet, he was elected by the most votes ever cast in a presidential election.
