SAFFORD – The Graham County Chamber of Commerce was excited to see the community at the Canyonlands Pharmacy Grand Opening on Oct. 28, at 2016 W. 16th St. in Safford.

The Canyonlands Healthcare Safford Clinic has its new pharmacy inside the building. This new pharmacy accepts all major insurance plans and has discounts available for patients without insurance. Also, the pharmacy processes prescriptions from the Canyonlands Clinic as well as from other clinics.

Josh Goodman, Canyonlands pharmacist, said this is one of four Canyonlands pharmacies in existence. There are seven Canyonland clinic sites in total. A Canyonlands pharmacy in Duncan at 103 Fairgrounds Rd. celebrated its grand opening Wednesday, Oct. 27.

“This pharmacy is intended to be an asset to patients who are uninsured or under-insured,” Goodman said. “It reduces the prices of medications, the intention is to help that population get their medications.”

Patients of Canyonlands clinics are usually on a sliding-fee payment schedule. Only Canyonlands’ patients’ prescriptions will be discounted. However, the Canyonlands clinic is accepting new patients at this time.

For the community members who aren’t Canyonlands Clinic patients, the pharmacy can be useful because it’s so close to the hospital and won’t have long waiting times for medications.

“We do provide that quick and easy service,” said Goodman.

The grand opening was held on Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting at noon. Snacks were provided, and the community was invited to meet the pharmacy staff and visit the new pharmacy at 2016 W. 16th St., Safford, AZ.
