EAC presents ‘Curie Me Away!’

By Lizzie Clonts

THATCHER – Eastern Arizona College’s Science and Fine Arts Divisions are proud to host “Curie Me Away!”, a free, one-night-only musical theatre production presented by Matheatre.

Scheduled for Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium, attendees are encouraged to come early (at 7 p.m.) and explore radioactivity with the EAC chemistry department before the show. Admission for both events is free.

From growing up in Russian occupied Poland, where the higher education of women was a punishable crime, to rocking the world as the first woman to win the Nobel Prize, “Curie Me Away!” is the radical story of a persistent woman, Marie Curie, who changed our understanding of the universe.

Best known for the perennial math classroom hit “Calculus: The Musical!”, Matheatre is an acclaimed STEM-based touring company, traveling internationally to schools, colleges, theaters, and museums with imaginative programming, including “Tesla Ex Machina”, “Calculus: The Musical!”, and the chemistry-themed musical “Curie Me Away!”.
