THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Languages Department is pleased to announce that it will now offer French 101 online as well as in-person this fall.

“When we had to switch to remote learning last semester due to the pandemic I got a very fast education on how to use zoom and other online learning,” said EAC French professor, Tonka Curtis. “Like many students, this jump into the unknown had to be taken with a leap of faith and after much research, revision, and the help of a great support system, I am so excited to bring French 101 to our students online.”

French 101 is designed for students at the beginning level who wish to speak, understand, read, and write in French. The course explores, and linguistic characteristics of Francophone countries.

Transfer students will be interested to know that this course fulfills the Global-International-Historical awareness (GIH) requirement and meets the Diversity and Inclusion (DI) requirement.

“Students will learn the same material in both the online and in-person classes,” Curtis said. “But, this will give them more options in these changing times.”

To register for the online version of French 101, FRE101, choose section #0670.

To register for the in-person version of French 101, FRE101, choose section #0700. This class will meet weekdays from 9-9:50 a.m., in the Academic Programs Building, Room #277.
