SAFFORD – A man allegedly shoplifted products from Walmart on Thursday, June 7, by concealing the contents in his stomach . . . and bladder.

An officer was dispatched to the store at 755 S. 20th Ave. at about 8:15 p.m. regarding the theft. Upon arrival, a store asset protection employee advised that he had viewed video surveillance of the theft.

The employee said that a man selected two Four Loko malt alcohol beverages from a refrigerated area of the liquor aisle and placed them into the waistband of his shorts. Four Loko is a flavored alcohol beverage that is either 10 percent, 12 percent, or 14 percent alcohol by volume.

The suspect then proceeded to the store’s restroom by the electronics department and stayed there for 25 minutes. It is believed the suspect possibly drank the beverages while in the restroom.

After the man emerged from the restroom, he promptly left the store through the automotive section and walked away westbound.

The man was described as being Native American and is possibly homeless, but no other descriptors were given. He was not located per the officer’s report.
