PIMA – A wildfire roughly 40 to 50 feet off Main Street near the Pima Bridge erupted north of the Gila River Wednesday night.
The Pima Fire Department was dispatched to the fire at about 8 p.m. According to a witness at the scene, the fire is burning Salt Cedar (Tamarisk) and Cottonwood trees in the riverbed.
The fire is reportedly burning just east of the bridge and north of the Gila River. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown but it is likely human-caused.
