Seen and heard at Morenci’s last home football win

The ladies serving customers were kept very busy throughout the night. Working the table are Miley Dunagan, Sway Cordova, Jenna Chaves (back to camera), and Paula Craig. Morenci won the game 27-7.

The Leyvas sold burros throughout the night on Sept. 24 for the Morenci High junior class. They were so popular the burros sold out before the end of the Morenci Wildcat football game vs. St. Johns. The Wildcats won 27-7.
Walt Mares Photo/Gila Herald: A definite highlight at the Sept. 24 Morenci High football game was a performance by the Li’l Cheers squad.  The capacity crowd thundered its delight with clapping and cheering for the little ones. Here they wait anxiously to take to the field to do their thing.
Walt Mares Photo/Gila Herald: It was a packed house at the Sept. 24 Morenci High School football game. The Wildcats beat visiting St. John’s 27-7  in a hard-fought battle. Morenci’s offensive line and backfield were outstanding in their blocking.
Walt Mares Photo/Gila Herald: Morenci High School alumnus Bryan Boling cooks hamburgers throughout the night at the Sept. 24 MHS football game vs. St. John’s, which Morenci’s Wildcats won 27-7. Boling, who graduated in the1980 was an All-State football player for the Wildcats He was the Morenci High School principal for several years. At present, he is the Greenlee County Superintendent of Schools.
