SUPERIOR – The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, for construction activities related to the US 60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon Bridges replacement project:
- US 60 between Superior and Miami, mileposts 227-231, will be reduced to one lane with alternating east- and westbound travel.
- Flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone.
- Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching and proceeding through the flagging operation.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
When required, full closures of U.S. Highway 60 will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays through November. Closures don’t occur every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but are limited to those days. During closures, drivers are detoured on state routes 77 and 177 through Winkleman. The next full closure of U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23.
Current traffic restrictions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, the az511 app (download for Apple or Android devices), or by calling 511.
