PIMA – The newest business to hang their hat on Pima’s Main Street, the hometown pharmacy, and more, Palo Verde Health Services, held its grand opening celebration on Tuesday.

The facility, located at 18 W. Center St., houses its walk-in clinic supervised by family nurse practitioner Angela Paull and Palo Verde Pharmacy run by pharmacist Brian Paull. On Tuesday, the Paulls hosted the community for lunch and held their official ribbon cutting.

“I’m kind of surprised at the turnout,” Brian Paull said. “This is amazing. I’m really happy about it. A lot of people came and I’m excited to see it.”

Angela Paull said she definitely felt the community’s support.

“Everything that we’ve heard has been positive and they’re happy to have us here,” Angela said. “So, we know what we’re doing is good.”

The event was attended by various local governmental dignitaries, including all three Graham County Supervisors, Pima Town Mayor Dale Rogers, Pima Town Manager Vernon Batty, Graham County Manager Dustin Welker, and more, including Graham County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vance Bryce and various business owners. Mayor Rogers and Supervisor Howard both spoke briefly prior to the ribbon cutting and welcomed the business to town.

“Well, I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed that it’s not ‘Sugar Shack’ but this is probably even more beneficial to the town than Sugar Shack was,” Town Manager Batty said. “Maybe they can start selling doughnuts . . . This is fantastic. This is exactly what Pima needs. Anything that we can have here to keep people from having to take a trip to town and keep their dollars here is just a benefit. I’m hoping this is the first step in bringing more businesses here so that we can be a little more self-sufficient.”

“I’m excited to have them in town,” Pima Mayor Dale Rogers said. “I think it’s a great asset to our community and something that we definitely need, so I’m excited for it.”

Pima Town Council member C.B. Fletcher attested to the proprietors’ healing hands.

“They’re amazing,” Fletcher said. “The pharmacist is an amazing guy, and his wife, Angela, is a nurse practitioner – very, very knowledgeable. I went to her yesterday and I was extremely pleased.”
