Joyce graduated Valedictorian from Thatcher High School in 1949 and then attended Eastern Arizona College graduating in 1951. On May 17, 1952, Joyce married Ben M. Ford in Tucson, AZ, and the couple was later blessed with two children; Douglas Ben and Sheryl Joy Ford.
Being called a woman of many talents, Joyce had many occupations over the years; MVD, DES, Graham County Electric, and Kennecott Mine to name a few. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
Joyce was a remarkable woman who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Her vibrant personality and warm smile brightened the lives of those around her. She cherished her role as a mother.
Joyce loved the beauty of the desert and enjoyed spending time appreciating its wonders. She had a passion for genealogy, reading, crocheting, picture albums, scrapbooking, working in her home and around the yard, going to the temple, and taking care of her family.
Sadly, on May 16, 2011, one day before their 59th wedding anniversary, her husband Ben passed into eternity leaving Joyce to tend to things here. All of her siblings and spouses and Ben’s siblings and spouses along with her son Douglas and daughter Sheryl have passed away as well. She was a pillar of strength and support to her family, and her loss leaves an immeasurable void in their hearts. Joyce’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving family and friends.
