SAFFORD — The City of Safford has announced a temporary road closure as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement initiative.
Work is underway on the 14th Avenue Mill and Overlay Pavement Rehabilitation Project, which aims to upgrade local roadways. As the project progresses to its next phase, 14th Avenue will be completely closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, while the contractor completes the milling and overlay work.
In addition to the full closure on 14th Avenue, motorists traveling through the area can expect significant traffic delays at the 14th Avenue and 8th Street intersection as heavy machinery and paving crews work directly through the junction.
City officials advise residents, commuters, and commercial drivers to plan their commutes accordingly, allow extra travel time, and seek alternate routes around the work zone.
The City of Safford has expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation as crews work to enhance the community’s roadway infrastructure. For further information or updates regarding city projects, residents can contact the City of Safford at (928) 432-4011.
