Job Fair to be held this month

GRAHAM COUNTY – The second Taylor Freeze location is emerging out of the desert just south of Safford and co-owners Joe and Sheryl Goodman are looking for a few good people to staff it.
To help gather applicants, the Goodmans will hold a job fair in Safford on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28, at the Arizona@Work Safford office in the Mt. Graham Shopping Center at 1910 W. Thatcher Blvd. from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 4 p.m. The owners are looking to hire about 25 people for their second restaurant’s location and will also accept applications at the Pima Taylor Freeze.
The new location dwarfs the original and has 3,100-square-feet of interior space as well as an additional outdoor covered patio and large outdoor area for entertaining. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor eating areas, a drive-through with orders taken by an attendant instead of a speaker box, separate area for ice cream and shakes orders, giant walk-in freezer and cooler, huge dry storage room and more.
On Thursday, workers were busy finishing up drywall preparation for paint on Friday. The restaurant will have a classic-car theme with a red border, according to Sheryl Goodman.
This April marks the 52nd year of operation for the Pima Taylor Freeze with the last 16 being owned and operated by Joe and Sheryl Goodman. It will also possibly mark the opening of their second location, which is off U.S. Highway 191 across the street from the Graham County Fairgrounds.
The new location will initially be open for just lunch and dinner, but Sheryl Goodman said they are looking at possibly offering breakfast in the near future as well.
“We’re just hoping to create a place that’s a destination,” Joe Goodman said.
