Do you know someone who is homeless–or possibly at risk of becoming homeless?

Come to this one-stop event to get connected to a range of helpful resources, from behavioral health to domestic violence; personal hygiene; veterans’ benefits information, substance abuse, and low-income housing.

Clothing and blankets will be available, food and music, phones–even free haircuts.

The event is a collaboration with Gila County Community Services, the Gila County Task Force on Homelessness, and the Homeless Coalition of Cobre Valley–which is a 501-c3 nonprofit organization.

When? Friday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where? Maranatha Baptist Church, 1320 E. Saguaro Dr., Globe (at the east end of town, just past the Swap Meet and across from the last Circle-K as you’re driving towards San Carlos).

For more information, contact Tim Gonzales at 928-961-3141 or tgonzales.1964homelesscoaltiion@gmail.com

Are you at risk of becoming homeless because of possible landlord-tenant issues?  Needing to get a job? Do you need eyeglasses and can’t afford them? Is your homelessness due to drugs or alcohol and want help?  Do you need to get into a shelter? Do you need a bible?

If you don’t have a phone and are in a government program like AHCCCS or SNAP (food stamps), bring your cards or proof you are in one of these programs and your driver’s license or ID.  They will have phones at the event to give out on the spot if you qualify.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the event to be at.  We will ask you to complete a short survey with someone so that data can be collected.

We need to show that our community needs more resources and services in our area. You will then visit whichever resource might help you.
A meal will be served. There will be shower and wash basins, provided by Azteca Glass and RAM Specialists.  There will be clothing available to look through.

Music by Extol will be provided to relax for a little while.

If you need a ride to the event, Copper Mountain Transit will get you to the Dollar General in Globe, then a van will pick you up to take you the rest of the way.

Just show them a flyer or let them know that you are going to be attending this event.

Make sure to check the bus schedule so that you will arrive in time to get to the resources needed.
