Graham County sees second fatal single-vehicle rollover crash in less than a week

GRAHAM COUNTY – The Graham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a second fatal single-vehicle crash. 

The most recent crash was reported at about 4:15 a.m., Thursday, and was located in the 2100 block of Safford/Bryce Road. Graham Dispatch reported a Ford Explorer had rolled.  

According to Graham County Undersheriff Jeff McCormies, two men were injured in the crash – with the passenger being fatal. The driver was taken to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center (MGRMC). His condition was not immediately known.

McCormies advised that the passenger had been ejected from the vehicle.

Motorcycle crash on Solomon Road

In yet another single-vehicle crash, a man was thrown from his motorcycle after crashing on Solomon Road Wednesday afternoon. 

Officials closed Solomon Road at about 1 p.m. for the crash and the man was attended to medically.  

The Sheriff’s Office was already investigating a single-vehicle rollover fatality on Bryce/Eden Road on Monday that took the life of Melissa J. Walker, 49, of Pima. Safford/Bryce Road ends into Bryce/Eden Road. 

Walker was also ejected from her vehicle after reportedly correcting back onto the road after going off onto the shoulder and rolling her SUV. She was later pronounced deceased at MGRMC.
