Former Morenci/EAC track star excels at Tabor College; graduates

HILLSBORO, KANSAS – Morenci High School and Eastern Arizona College 2017 graduate Aaliyah Manuz has graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and has been accepted into Northern Arizona University’s graduate program to pursue her master’s degree in Athletic Training. Manuz was enrolled in the schools’ dual program, which enabled her to graduate from EAC at the same time she graduated from Morenci.

A three-star athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track at Morenci High School, Manuz accepted a track scholarship to Tabor College in Kansas and was recognized as the MVP Women’s Track Member for 2019.

The Tabor College Bluejays are a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) and is an NAIA school. The track season is year-round, with indoor track performed in the winter and outdoor track in the spring.

Manuz’s other track accolades while at Tabor include 10 KCAC All-Conference awards in both indoor and outdoor track in the 60-meter and 100-meter hurdles, the medley relay, the 4X100 relay, and the 4X400 relay; NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete, and she has tied the Tabor College indoor 60-meter hurdle record.

Manuz’s ultimate goal is to become an athletic trainer and will begin to work toward her master’s degree at NAU in the fall.

Manuz is the daughter of Manual and Rebecca Manuz from Clifton.
