The Gomez family lost all their worldly possessions when they awoke to the residence they were living at on fire. The Safford Fire Department determined the fire was possibly caused by an electrical extension cord that was powering a freezer on the south side of the residence.

The family escaped the burning residence with literally only the clothes on their backs. Along with their belongings, the family lost their pet dogs as well as two Chevy Silverado pickup trucks and a 2020 Polaris Razor UTV. A GoFund Me account was also created to assist the Gomez family.
