SAFFORD – The Copper Mountain Clinic held its ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Friday for the opening of its new location in Mount Graham Regional Medical Center’s Medical Office Complex Building 1 at 2175 W. 16th St. Suite D in Safford.

Copper Mountain Clinic Manager Diane Hansen addressed the crowd at the event and thanked all of those who made it possible.

“David and I just really wanted to thank the multi-departments that pulled this off,” she said. “It really came from a lot of help and hard work and support from them. We’re just really excited to be able to have this service and care for our patients in our community with this beautiful, spacious building.”

Staff from the clinic were joined by the MGRMC Auxilliary and the Graham County Chamber of Commerce was on hand to document the proceedings. Graham County Board of Supervisors Chairman Danny Smith and Safford City Council member Arnold Lopez welcomed the clinic’s opening.

“I’m real excited that you’re here,” Lopez told the group at the ribbon-cutting. “And I know the community is looking forward to being here also.”

Copper Mountain Clinic is a rural health clinic that first opened its doors in November 2011. The new 8,000-square-foot facility doubles the clinic’s exam rooms from seven to 14. The clinic also has a contract with the city of Safford to perform the physicals and pre-employment testing for staff. Same-day appointments are available to help the community with its healthcare.

“The staff here is fantastic and excited to fill the need,” said Shaylee Richards, MRGMC Director of Marketing and Community Relations.

The complex also currently includes Mt. Graham Surgical and Pima Heart will be moving in next door to Copper Mountain Clinic in the next few months, according to MGRMC Chief Operating Officer Eric Neal. The building also had two “shell” openings left in the complex – including a 5,500-square-foot space.

Copper Mountain Clinic is open Mondays – Fridays, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call (928) 348-1600.
