GRAHAM AND GREENLEE COUNTIES – Graham and Greenlee counties remain to have the lowest reported cases of tests positive for the novel coronavirus COVID-19

Graham, Greenlee, and Gila counties are the only counties in Arizona to not have a new reported case in the past few days.

Graham County has had a positive test since mid-March when a Pima Elementary School staff member involving fifth- and sixth-grades and a student were positive. Both patients were quarantined and have made full recoveries without having to be hospitalized.

Greenlee County reported the virus had spread from its initial patient – who had made a full recovery without hospitalization – to a family member. That test was reported positive Thursday, April 9.

Greenlee County has begun to use rapid test kits that test for antibodies, and Graham County should receive the same sort of tests within the week. According to Graham County Health Director Brian Douglas, Graham County currently has two pending tests out of 154 given. According to the Greenlee County Health Department, Greenlee County has performed 68 tests with five pending results as of Wednesday.

The ADHS reported 3,962 total positive tests as of Wednesday, with 142 deaths throughout the state. Maricopa County was listed as having 2,146 positive tests, followed by Pima County with 700, Navajo County – 390, Coconino County – 266, Pinal County – 182, Apache County – 110, Yavapai County – 66, Mohave County – 45, Yuma County – 18, Cochise County – 15, Santa Cruz County – 12, La Paz County – 5, Gila County – 3, Greenlee County – 2, Graham County – 2.
