Arizona Gives Day announces 2019 prize winners

PHOENIX — More than 80 nonprofits participating in Arizona Gives Day from around the state, including large and small organizations focused on animal welfare, the arts, child welfare, human rights and more, collected $180,000 in additional prize money during the 24-hour online fund-raising event hosted by The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum. 

More than 720 organizations participated in the event April 2, presented by FirstBank, raising a record amount of $3.6 million. Matson Money was a Platinum Sponsor. 

Since 2013, more than $1.2 million has been given away in prize money.  Prizes were available throughout the day in a range of categories including Power Hours, most dollars raised during the last four hours of the day, and for pre-scheduled donations for most dollars donated and unique donors. Sponsors of the incentive prize pool were FirstBank, Thunderbirds Charities and Freeport McMoRan Foundation.

Among the leading prize winners were: Cochise County – Oasis Sanctuary Foundation ($10,000); Coconino County – Northern Arizona Pioneers’ Historical Society ($5000); Graham County – Our Neighbors Farm and Pantry ($2,000); Maricopa County – BASIS Charter Schools ($10,500); Navajo County – Northland  Pioneer College Friends and Family ($2,500); Pima County – Sold No More ($10,000); Breakdown International ($10,000); Pinal County – Seeds of Hope ($5,000); and Yavapai County – G.E.M Environmental ($1250).
