The Arizona Department of Housing selected the Arizona Community Foundation’s Affordable Housing Fund to receive a 2018 Housing Hero Award.
The Affordable Housing Fund is being recognized for its innovative support of housing options for those with lower and moderate incomes through zero-interest loans to nonprofit housing developers. The Fund has supported the development of 45 affordable housing projects over 10 years.
The Housing Hero Awards are driven by community nominations and recognize outstanding achievements in seven categories. Award recipients were recognized during the 15th Annual Arizona Housing Forum on August 24, 2018.

The Arizona Community Foundation and its Affiliates steward the gifts placed in their care with an eye toward permanence and growth, and from the investment earnings on the endowment, award millions of dollars in grants and scholarships every year.

Funding is awarded year-round to nonprofit organizations, government agencies and educational institutions for a variety of uses, including general operating support, programmatic support and capacity building. While most grants are made in Arizona, grants may be made nationally as well.
