GRAHAM COUNTY – A Graham County woman found herself in a tricky situation when she recently attempted to sell some pictures of her feet online and instead had her bank account allegedly hacked.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence just south of Safford off W. Saguaro Street to a call for service on Friday, Sept. 13, regarding a threatening phone call.

According to the victim, she utilizes a website called Feet Finder to sell pictures of her feet online. She advised she had sold some pictures to a customer for $1,000, but after she deposited a check she said she got from them “over the phone”, the bank account became drained to a balance of negative $120.

Additionally, after reportedly taking any money she had in her bank account, the scammer repeatedly threatened the victim and her family for more money. The victim said she blocked the phone numbers but the scammers continue to call with new ones and have used pictures from her personal social media accounts of her and her children to threaten her. The victim said the scammer has threatened to kill her and her children if she doesn’t send them more money accompanied by videos of people in gory scenes advising that is what happened to the last people who didn’t send them money.

The deputy advised the victim to notify her bank right away, stop all transactions, and shut down her account. He also advised the victim to get a new phone number and social media accounts, but as far as local law enforcement, there wasn’t anything that could be done but to document the case.
