Woman killed in single-vehicle crash on Bryce/Eden Road

An intoxicated woman allegedly attempted to bite a hospital employee while being medically cleared for the jail.

A local woman was pronounced deceased at MGRMC on Monday afternoon, after flipping her SUV on Bryce/Eden Road.

PIMA – A woman died Monday afternoon after crashing her red SUV on Bryce/Eden Road near Morris Lane. The victim has been identified as Melissa Walker, 49.

Authorities and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at about 1:36 p.m. Sherrif P.J. Allred advised Walker was the only occupant of the vehicle.  

The Sheriff’s Office and Pima Police responded to the scene to discover a red SUV had flipped in a single-vehicle crash. 

A Helicopter from Air-Evac was dispatched, however, Walker was transported by ground ambulance to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. 

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
