GRAHAM COUNTY – A Graham County woman was jailed on DUI charges in the early morning hours of Dec. 8 after leaving the scene of a crash and then high-centering her truck while allegedly impaired.

Jennifer Ann Casey, 43, was arrested by an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper and booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility. According to a Graham County Sheriff’s Office report, there were intoxicating beverages found inside Casey’s truck as well as a pill bottle.

Deputies were initially dispatched at about 7:33 p.m. on Dec. 7 to the area of U.S. Highway 70 and Lone Star Road for a hit-and-run investigation. The reporting party advised a truck driven by a woman ran over a railroad-highway sign. After briefly stopping, the driver then left the area.

The white, Chevrolet truck was nowhere in sight, however, a nearby resident heard the crash and witnessed the woman get out of her truck and then leave the scene. The reporting party described the driver and said she appeared to be intoxicated. Even more importantly, the respondent took down the truck’s license plate number, and deputies soon spoke to Casey’s son, who pinged his mother’s phone which showed her near Lone Star Road and Montierth Lane.

As deputies drove eastbound on Lone Star Road they located Casey’s truck high-centered on a dirt mound next to a house off Lone Star Road. She had run through a fence before being stopped by the mound.

Casey was located inside the truck and had difficulty walking down from the dirt mound, according to the Sheriff’s Office’s report. A DPS trooper then arrived on the scene and performed a DUI investigation which ended in Casey’s arrest and booking.
