Winter storm warning in effect through Tuesday

GRAHAM AND GREENLEE COUNTIES – A winter storm warning has been issued for Graham and Greenlee counties as well as other areas of southeastern and northeastern Arizona. 

According to the National Weather Service, two winter storms will impact the area Sunday through Tuesday. Various winter weather headlines have been posted for these storms. Expect potential impacts due to snow, especially Monday night and Tuesday across southeast Arizona.

The winter storm warning is expected to affect the conditions in the mountains of Graham and Greenlee counties, including the Galiuro and Pinaleno Mountains and Hannagan Meadow. Those areas could see snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches 

A winter weather advisory has also been issued for Monday at 1 p.m. through Tuesday at 5 p.m., which includes the Upper Gila River and Aravaipa Valleys, including Pima, Thatcher, Safford, Clifton, and Morenci.

The winter weather advisory reports snow is expected in portions of southeast Arizona from 1 to 3 inches, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Plan on slippery road conditions.
