SAFFORD – The annual National Victims of Crimes Witness Awareness Week is April 25th-29th.  The week will be celebrated locally on Thursday, April 28 at 5 p.m. at the Graham County Courthouse located at 800 W. Main St. in Safford.

The theme for this year’s victim awareness week is “Rights, Access, and Equity for all Victims” and underscores the importance of helping crime survivors find their justice by enforcing victims’ rights, expanding access to services, and ensuring equity and inclusion for all.

The Graham County Attorney’s Office and the Victim Witness Department have teamed up with the Mt. Graham Safe House to host the one-day event which will be open to the community and all survivors/victims of crime.

We hope that you will join us on Thursday, April 28 at 5 p.m. for a balloon release, and for recognition speeches from various speakers including survivors of crime, victim witness advocates, and the Graham County Attorney.

Questions can be referred to the Graham County Victim Advocate Director, Elvira Talavera, or the Graham Country Attorney, L. Scott Bennett.
