County surpasses 100 active cases for the first time

CLIFTON – On Friday, the Greenlee County Health Department reported two new deaths attributed to COVID-19.
The deaths were listed as being Duncan residents in their 70s and 90s. For the course of the pandemic, Greenlee County has attributed 13 deaths to COVID-19, with six from the Duncan area, five from the Clifton area, and two from the Morenci area.
The health department also advised of nine new positive cases on Friday, bringing the county’s total to 718 for the course of the pandemic, with 601 recoveries, 104 active cases, and 13 deaths.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, Greenlee County has a fully vaccinated rate of about 32.8 percent, with those 12 and older at 40.2 percent, those 18 and older at 44.4 percent, those 65 and older at 65.7 percent, with 72.6 percent of those 65 and older have had at least one dose of vaccine.
