PIMA – Have you ever received a Christmas present from your grandmother of a pack of socks? Now imagine you were truly grateful to have received that present.

That is the harsh reality for a number of families during this Christmas season of giving, and the Pima Wish trees aim to not only provide the basic necessities these youth are hoping to receive but also a special toy or too, after all, it is Christmas.

There are two youth Wish trees at Pima Town Hall, and they are joined by a senior “Elder” tree that has the wishes of some of our senior citizens who could also use some assistance and perhaps a special gift or two. A fourth Wish tree is located at the Pima Library.

The wish tags on the trees at Pima Town Hall and Pima Library can be taken by those who wish to fulfill them. The tags list a few necessities and the sizes the child wears, as well as a gift request.

If you are able to help provide a little Christmas cheer, the town of Pima asks that you wrap the gifts listed on a wish tag and return it with the tag to Pima Town Hall to be placed under the trees by Friday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. The town will then deliver the presents to the youth and the elderly.

As community members, let’s show how much Christmas spirit we have and make sure no wish tag goes unfulfilled this holiday season.
