According to Graham County Sheriff’s Office reports, County Dispatch alerted to a call regarding a weapon offense at about 4:25 p.m. on Monday that occurred near milepost 346 on U.S. Highway 70. Dispatch advised that a man was seen shooting a rifle at a vehicle while hanging out of the moon roof of a blue Nissan Altima. The driver and passenger of the victim vehicle said they saw the man point a rifle at them.

Deputies assisted the Arizona Department of Public Safety and located a blue Nissan Altima on Airport Road and performed a high-risk stop with duty weapons drawn on the occupants of the Nissan. Garcia was reportedly in the driver’s seat, while Garrobo exited the front passenger seat and Garza exited from the rear.

After the suspects were in custody, deputies located two black rifles in the car, both of which turned out to be pellet rifles, with one loaded with a pellet. Deputies also tested the moon roof and saw it did open in a way in which a person could stand through it.

DPS troopers and detectives examined damage to the victim’s vehicle and saw it was consistent with being struck by a BB or pellet.

According to the DPS, two of the suspects admitted to being involved in shooting at the victim’s vehicle.

After being questioned, the three suspects were all booked into the jail for endangerment. The case remains under investigation by DPS detectives.
