FORT THOMAS – Res ball was in full flight in the third period Tuesday night in Fort Thomas as the Apaches’ lead over the Dishchii’bikoh Wildcats jumped exponentially on the way to a 73-44 victory.

The win was the fifth in a row for Fort Thomas and the last regular-season game of the season.

The Apaches and Wildcats played close to a stalemate in the first half, but The Fort blew it open in the third and cruised to victory.

Fort Thomas (8-2 1A Copper, 16-9 overall) finished tied atop the 1A Copper Region with the Hayden Lobos (8-2 1A Copper, 15-5 overall), and while the teams split the regular season with Hayden winning the Jan. 4 contest 59-52 and Fort Thomas winning the rematch Jan. 19, 78-66, Hayden gets the nod for the tiebreaker due to being ranked sixth in the conference versus Fort Thomas at No. 7.
