MORENCI AND SAFFORD – The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will bring its one-ring, big-top circus show to Morenci on Thursday, April 21, at the Greenlee County Softball Fields parking lot with shows at 5 and 7:30 p.m., and in Safford at the Graham County Fairgrounds on Friday, April 22 with the same showtimes.
C&M Circus has been providing quality, local family entertainment for 37 years. This authentic one-ring, big top circus has been featured on the A&E Special: Under the Big Top, Nick News: On the Road with Circus Kids, and most recently OETA’s Big Top Town. This year, we’re very excited to bring you our brand new 2022 performance featuring Big Cats presented by Trey Key, our aerialists extraordinaire Simone and Kelly, 10th generation Loyal Bareback Horse Riders, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the tight rope, and Wheel of Destiny, everyone’s favorite Circus Clown Leo Acton, Brandon Ayala on the Rola Bola, and a very special presentation of beautiful rescued and rehabilitated cockatoos by Logan Jimenez.
Advanced tickets are just $12 for adults (age 13 and up) and $7 for children (age 2-12) or seniors (65 and older). Tickets can be purchased in advance in Morenci at R&R Pizza, and Ace Hardware; in Duncan at Town & Country Supply, Stage Stop Mini Market, and the town of Duncan; in Clifton at Clifton Bakery, El Corralito, the Greenlee County Board of Supervisors Office, and the town of Clifton. The show in Morenci is sponsored by the Greenlee County Chamber of Commerce.
The Safford show is sponsored by the Safford Lions Club, which is raising funds for cancer gas cards and scholarships and is selling tickets at Farmers Insurance at 610 W. Main St. in Safford. Tickets will also be available at the box office on the circus grounds starting one hour before each show. Box office prices are $15 per adult and $8 per child or senior.
Circus day schedule
9:30 a.m. – Tent Raising and Tour
Everyone is invited to watch the Big Top rise. You’ll also get a chance to tour the grounds, learn all about life on the road, see our beautiful animals, learn about their care and get a behind-the-scenes look at the show.
4 p.m. – Midway Opens
There will be pony rides, Moon Bounce, Giant Slide, face painting, a concession stand, and the opening of the box office.
5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – Circus Performance
Get ready for an amazing show the whole family will love. Each show lasts about 90 minutes.
