PIMA – After being dark the past two years due to COVID-19, the Pima Fire Department proudly announces the return of the Big Splash Bash to the Pima Pool on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 5 – 9 p.m.

Come one, come all to the fourth annual Big Splash Bash, and be sure to bring your appetite as a barbecue will be available in the park before the pool festivities.

The event will display emergency vehicles, feature raffle drawings, and, of course, the Big Splash Bash competition.

The event is a fundraiser with all proceeds going toward the construction of a new Pima Fire Station. The town has outgrown the current station, which is too tiny for most new fire trucks and has flooding issues.

An emergency helicopter will land at the park at about 4:30 p.m., and cooking will commence afterward. Food and activities will then take place from 5 – 9 p.m.

The Pima Fire Department will also hold an open house at its fire station on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 6 – 8 p.m. for the general public to peruse, and will feature apparatus displays, food, and hose drills.
