The 26th annual Safford Light Parade is on Saturday

SAFFORD – The Christmas season is upon the Gila Valley confirmed by the 26th annual Light Parade in Downtown Safford on Saturday night. 

The theme for this year’s parade is “Winter Wonderland.”

Santa Claus will be on hand at the Safford Theatre from 4-5:45 p.m., and various local talent will be showcased at Safford City Hall starting at 5 p.m. 

Plenty of stores and vendors will be open late to accommodate holiday shopping. A fun and festive atmosphere Downtown will include photo booths on each block for Christmas pics.

The parade itself will begin at 6 p.m. and make its way down Main Street from the Graham County Courthouse at the intersection with 8th Avenue. 

After the parade, visit St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 311 S. Central Ave. for its annual Festival of Trees. Opening night is Saturday, Dec. 9, from 7 – 9 p.m., and the festival will run Dec. 11 – 14, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 – 7 p.m. 

In addition to the Christmas Trees, there will be concessions available such as green, mixed, and bean burros, stuffed animals, a jewelry boutique, and a 50/50 raffle.
