GRAHAM COUNTY – A night of drinking ended with incarceration after a Thatcher woman allegedly assaulted both her parents.

Sebina Nichole Kidwell, 24, was arrested and booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Facility on Aug. 8 on two counts of aggravated assault and criminal damage.

According to a Graham County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were dispatched at about 7:45 p.m. to a residence in the 5900 block of S. Cottontail Ln. regarding a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, deputies located a man bleeding from his head and a woman who appeared to have her nose broken. The couple advised that their daughter, Kidwell, had returned after a day of drinking with a friend at Roper Lake and attempted to retrieve her vehicle and child. When the suspect’s mother intervened about taking the child while intoxicated, Kidwell allegedly got into a physical altercation and assaulted her mother. The mother’s nose was later confirmed by hospital staff to be fractured.

When the victim’s husband attempted to break up the assault, Kidwell allegedly broke a vase over his head and caused a laceration. Kidwell then allegedly threw another vase at her father before leaving the area in her white, Dodge Ram pickup truck.

A Safford officer located the truck at the Safford Cemetery and advised Kidwell appeared to be inside with her two children. The officer and a deputy approached the vehicle and located Kidwell, who appeared to be intoxicated and was very upset and crying. She would later blow a .136 alcohol/breath concentration on a portable breath test.

Kidwell denied starting the altercation and said if she struck her mother it was unintentional. However, witnesses at the scene pointed out Kidwell as the aggressor and said she took the victim to the ground before pummeling the victim’s nose. Kidwell allegedly admitted to hitting her father with the vase in an attempt to have him let go of her hair but denied throwing a second vase.

Kidwell called her husband, who responded to the cemetery and picked up the truck and the children. Kidwell was then arrested and was booked into the jail on two charges of aggravated assault and criminal damage.
