Swing into spring with EA’s Community Jazz Band and A Warm Night of Cool Music

THATCHER — The vibrant rhythms of jazz will fill the air at Eastern Arizona College on Monday, May 6, as the Community Jazz Band, under the esteemed direction of Dr. Gary Sorensen, dean of students, invites the public to an exhilarating evening of music. This free concert, featuring a range of jazz styles, is a perfect outing for enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The concert will feature a double quartet by the GVC Jazz group directed by local talent, Jenny Keith.

Dr. Sorensen, a celebrated figure within the administration and the music community at EA, will lead a talented ensemble through an impressive lineup of jazz standards and modern arrangements. His passion for jazz and dynamic leadership are expected to make this an exceptional event.

This musical treat is scheduled for Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Activities Center – Lee Little Theater. The college is eager to share this cultural gem with the community, bringing together fans of all ages.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. While the concert is free of charge, early arrival is recommended to ensure a good seat.
