Swift Trail gate on Mount Graham to reopen Friday morning

GRAHAM COUNTY – The gate on the Swift Trail on Safford Ranger District, Coronado National Forest which seasonally closes for the winter will reopen Friday, April 24 at 8 a.m.  Road crews are working to remove snow and stabilize the roadway prior to that date.

The gate at the end of the pavement on State Route 366 (Swift Trail) at milepost 136.2 on Mount Graham will reopen, although the following recreation sites beyond the gate remain closed and are unavailable to rent via Recreation.gov:

·       Clark Peak Corrals Campground –Safford Ranger District, Pinal County, Arizona.

·       Cunningham Campground Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Hospital Flat Campground Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Upper Hospital Flat Group Site Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Riggs Flat Campground Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Soldier Creek Campground Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Treasure Park Group Site Safford Ranger District, Graham County, Arizona

·       Columbine Visitor Center/Group Ramada Safford Ranger District, Graham County,  Arizona,

Dispersed recreation activities are available outside of the closed sites which include and are not limited to hiking, picnicking, fishing, scenic driving, bird watching and back country camping,
