GRAHAM COUNTY – A collision involving a blue suburban and a silver Mercedes convertible ended with the SUV on top of the car Thursday night.
Authorities were dispatched at about 7:16 p.m. to U.S. Highway 191 and Lebanon Road regarding a possible two-vehicle rollover.
Upon arrival, deputies with the Graham County Sheriff’s Office located a blue suburban facing north resting on top of the front end of a silver Mercedes that was facing south.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the driver of the suburban was turning north onto U.S. Highway 191 from Lebanon Road and saw the Mercedes approaching. The driver of the suburban stopped the SUV in the southbound lane, which caused the Mercedes to run into it, according to the report.
The driver of the Mercedes suffered head injuries and was taken to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center (MGRMC) for treatment. A passenger in the suburban reported having chest pain and was taken to MGRMC as well. The driver of the suburban was listed as not being injured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
