SAFFORD – A motor vehicle collision closed 8th Street at the intersection with 8th Avenue on Tuesday morning to allow a tow truck to remove an SUV from the inside of the B&D Air Conditioning building at 723 S. 8th Ave.

The SUV crashed into the business at around 7:30 a.m., according to an employee, striking the southern side of the building. An employee was inside at the time of the crash but was in a back office and was not injured. The driver was also listed as not being injured, according to a police release.

The SUV caused damage to filters and parts that were on shelves in the corner of the business where the SUV struck, and employees were busy cleaning up the area still at around 9 a.m. However, the business is still open and operational for anyone who needs air conditioning service.
