GRAHAM AND GREENLEE COUNTIES – Pima, Solomon, and Duncan elementary schools are offering kindergarten summer camps for children who will be 5 by August 31. Sessions will be held Monday through Thursday, with each school following a unique schedule. Solomon Elementary will be from June 3 – 13; Pima Elementary will be from June 10 – 20, and Duncan Elementary will be from June 17 – 27. There is no charge for the program. Snacks will be served. Parents are asked to call the school or stop by the office to register their child.

The goal of the camp is to ensure all children enter school ready to succeed. Kindergarten teachers will offer fun learning activities that strengthen early literacy and math skills. Most of all, the children will become familiar with their new teacher, new friends, and the school campus. Parents will be asked to participate in some of the activities during the eight-day program and will receive a kit with educational materials for use with their children during the summer.

This program is sponsored by the Graham and Greenlee County School Superintendent’s Offices in partnership with The First Things First Graham/Greenlee Region and funded through the generosity of the Arizona Community Foundation of the Gila Valley.
