THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Dance Department invites the community to travel back in time and experience the elegance of 18th-century dance at the annual Jane Austen Ball. The event will be held Friday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., in the Activities Center – Main Dining Hall. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
The evening will feature live demonstrations of classic dances from Jane Austen’s era, led by EAC associate professor of dance Marci Barney. “This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the charm and beauty of period dance,” Barney said. “And we invite everyone to step onto the floor and try these dances themselves.”
Attendees of all ages are encouraged to dress in period-style attire—though costumes are optional—and immerse themselves in the spirit of Austen’s world.
Hosted by the EAC Dance Club and Dance Classes, the Jane Austen Ball offers a unique chance for the community to connect through dance and history. Don’t miss this opportunity to make memories from a different century!
