THATCHER – Attention Gila Monsters and those Monster-adjacent: Your help is needed this November! Your blood donation can help ensure doctors and hospitals have what they need on the shelves for patients in need. Every time you give, you may help save more than one life. Your donation at the Eastern Arizona College Blood Drive can make a real difference to someone in need.
The blood drive will take place Thursday, Nov. 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at EAC’s Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center at 615 N. Stadium Ave. in Thatcher. Click here to make an appointment.
EAC has held the record for the largest American Red Cross Blood Drive throughout the years and the Monsters look to continue that legacy.
Longtime Red Cross Phlebotomist Charlie Overhold has donated more than 17 gallons himself and credits it with keeping his blood fresh and young.
“The blood we take out of you has been in your body from three seconds to a couple of years…The pint of blood we take out of you is like a whole community of blood… You’re going to make brand new young blood, so you get younger every time you donate. In my 52 years in the workforce, I’ve given 17 gallons of blood, 136 donations,” Overhold previously stated in November 2021.
Come to give and get a Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last!* It’s our thanks for being part of our lifesaving team. Your donation can help patients get back in the game this spring!

You may still donate after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. Knowing the name of the manufacturer is critical in determining your blood donation eligibility.
Schedule appointments, view your blood type and results of your mini-physical, and track your donations. Or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter EAC or call 1-800-Red Cross to schedule an appointment.
