Driver treated at local hospital

GRAHAM COUNTY – A Sierra Vista woman was fatally injured on April 28 after the motorcycle she was a passenger on crashed while traveling on Highway 266 through the Pinaleño Mountain Range south of Safford.
Annette White, 60, of Sierra Vista, succumbed to her injuries despite life-saving efforts from a passerby, law enforcement, and Emergency Medical Services.
The driver of the motorcycle, Michael White, 54, of Sierra Vista, was found lying next to the woman but did not need emergency medical services. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The crash occurred around milepost 111, which is in between Stockton Pass Wash and Gillespie Wash in the Pinaleño Mountain Range on Highway 266. Law enforcement were first dispatched at about 6:13 p.m.
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene and then turned it over to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
